Beyond the newsroom, Karess Melanie actively gives back to underrepresented communities, dedicating her time to meaningful initiatives. Her leadership shines through roles such as President of the National Association of Black Journalists (ASU), Director of Safety, Health, and Wellness for the student government, and Director of Operations for the non-profit Empowered Hands.
